Evan's first hair cut

I've been debating for a very long time about cutting his hair and I finally caved. I tried to use Greg's wax in it but Greg thought it was borderline child abuse, so I had to cut it.
check out his shag

After his first hair cut...I actually used scissors and it was really easy to keep it nice and layered

I cut it again while he was sleeping...mainly the back because he kind of had a mullet so I don't know if you can even tell
How grown up does he look?
Today is my birthday and Greg made me a cake. Last night at like 1am I woke up to the smell of something sweet and I wondered if someone was making brownies and then I realized that would be silly at 1am and then I remembered it was my birthday today and I asked Greg if he was making me a cake and he said, "yes, but you weren't supposed to know."
He did a good job. He doesn't cook let alone bake so this was a big deal! He used to whole cake mixes instead of one and dividing it between the round pans so it was a huge cake and he used Olive Oil as the oil  haha. I only teased him a little because he's sick and he was so sweet to stay up all night and bake me a cake. He's favorite :o)

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving in Olympia, Washington with my brother and sister in-law and my parents.
My brother fried a delicious turkey and managed to keep his garage intact...always a plus. I helped my SIL make some delicious dishes and some of their friends came and brought yummy things too. My brother's friend from high school just happens to be living in Washington too, so he came with his fiance.
After everyone left we had some fun playing the Xbox Kinect...there are some must see video's at the end of this post.
Tuesday we arrived and my parents, brother played with my wee one. Wednesday my brother took us to a little diner that was superb to my palate. Thursday-turkey day. Friday I spent most of the day with my SIL Kim. We did shopping...we did NOT get up uber early to do so either. We spent some cash, did a lot of talking, and then we went and saw Breaking Dawn because we are twilight lovers and if we were 13 years younger you might have heard us squeal in delight.  We killed some time in a book store before the movie started and then we went to the theater which had recliners. Later that night we had a little more fun with the XBox until we danced ourselves to sleep...or tried to dance. We are planning on going back and touring washington with my brother and sister in law because there is mucho I want to see/do. Anyway, enjoy some pics and video's

Welp, we are off to Washington State for Thanksgiving!

Mittleschmerz

Ovulation really has absolutely nothing to do with this post, but I always giggle a little when I hear "Mittleschmerz" and occasionally I just randomly say it in a squeaky mouse voice sort of way...

Have you ever just laughed until you were nearly blue because someone else was laughing so hard they nearly peed their pants and you never even knew why they were laughing in the first place?

ANYWAY on to some pictures that make more sense than what I just typed....

This is Evan and his friend Will

This is Will's mama AND this is Evan wondering why Will has his paci, but he does not have his.

This is Evan and Will watching their dad's play the Wii.

Christmas Prep

We got a new Christmas tree and we decided to put it up Saturday. I've never had my tree up this early, but I love it. We had so much fun Greg was so kind to turn off the football game and turn on some Christmas music. This will be our last Christmas in this apartment and it was actually kind of sad for me. Greg and I have been through many things while living here... happy and sad, so I was a little emotional while we were putting the tree up. We are excited at the same time because when we come back it's going to be kind of a new start. I need a break from Utah real bad and so the 2 months we will be gone will be a nice refresher and then we move into a new place, so it'll be good. Anyway here are some pic-cha's

Going kind of Vegan

Greg and I are working on getting life insurance and I got my lab work back and I was in shock over my Cholesterol! I don't even weigh 100 pounds how is this possible?! They aren't over the range but they are extremely close. My HDL'S  aren't as high as I would like and my LDL's aren't as low and my total Cholesterol is RE-DONK-U-LOUS.

I eat pretty healthy, so I think it's mostly heredity playing it's part. I've been chatting with a doc at work and  she thinks I should go Vegan for a while. I only eat Chicken and Ground turkey when I do eat meat, so I don't know that I will go completely Vegan....probably just not as much meat. I did eat LOS of peanut butter, so I cut that out except for the all natural kind. We eat a lot of brown rice and quinoa and veggies, so really my diet won't be that different. Did you know that Sugar turns to Cholesterol? BAHH! I had no idea! So The day I got my labs back was the day I quit eating sugar.   I am going to start making my own stone ground wheat bread again, so I know exactly what's going in it. I did that for a while, but stopped. Did you know that one scoop of ice cream has more cholesterol than a hamburger!? HA! I know! Me Either! Crazy, huh!?

I do need to exercise more like I used to. I kind of stopped except for walking because somehow I got down to 95 pounds and I didn't want to keep losing, but I think I just need to exercise to lose the cholesterol.

I found some yummy recipe's for Lentil soups, so I will post them when I try them out.

My boss is amazing....I'll explain at a later date.
-----------------------
I want to have another baby......right now.
------------------------------

I have been thinking about how when most people make decisions they make their decision based on what's logical. Greg and I make our decisions based on what God wants us to do. We have never made any huge, potentially life altering, decisions before we brought it up to the Lord and they have always worked out. Maybe not immediately, but they have always been the right decisions. Sometimes Greg and I talk about this and we say, if we would have done what we thought was the best way we would have ended up like this or that. There is a reason I bring this up...I'll explain in a minute
When Greg and I got married he was trying to find a job and he eventually got one, but it was bad hours and the environment was awful so we had prayed about it and felt that he shouldn't take it. This was huge too because he had been searching for a while and he really needed one, but the answer was "no." Family thought we were crazy, but they never understood our reason. Greg eventually got a job that was a million times better with benefits and all, but he never would have found that job if he would have taken the bad one. We followed the Lord. That's just one example.

Greg and I recently made a big decision that could have affected our whole life and I had been fighting it and fighting it because I thought it was crazy and I knew other people would too, but the Lord gave us an answer. I cannot deny the answer i received and Greg cannot deny the answer he received after we knelt together. We still haven't seen the outcome and we won't for a while, but I have felt nothing but comfort. I know this is all going to work out. The way things are happening, it's already working out. I'll explain the whole thing at a later date.

The moral of my story is, follow the Lord. He'll guide you along the right path, just listen and never doubt.

I'm a Nurse.

‎"You're a nurse?? That's cool, I wanted to do that when I was a kid. What do you make?"

"WHAT DO I MAKE??"

I make holding your hand seem like the most important thing in the world when you're scared. I can make your child breathe when they stop. I can help your father survive a heart attack. I make myself get out of bed at 5am to make sure your mother has the medicine she needs to live. I work
...all day to save the lives of strangers. I make my family wait for dinner until I know your family member is taken care of. I make myself skip lunch so that I can make sure that everything I did for your husband today is charted. I make myself work weekends and holidays because people dont just get sick Monday through Friday.

Today, I might save your life. I make a difference, what do you make?

*I've had a lot of children quit breathing on me in PACU - the place people go after surgery -and It's the worst feeling in the world. Thankfully, it has always turned out well!

In other news

Greg has accepted an internship with Ernst and Young in Columbus Ohio!

There are 2 other BYU grads there! How fun is that for him!?

It's from Jan 6th- either March 9th or March 16th...the end date hasn't been

decided yet. I have to be back to work on the 12th, so I will leave the 10th or

11th regardless.

We were going to be home for Christmas, but my job has been amazing with

letting me go so we're going to stay so I can work until we leave.

I'm a little bummed about it, but at the same time...it's really hard to travel

during the Holidays. Last year it was really stressful trying to see everyone and

spend equal amounts of time.

YAY for Greg!

*I just finished The Color of Water and it was such a good book! Just another book idea if any of you are readers!
