Saying Goodbye

We got together with some good friends to celebrate our men for graduating and getting their masters. We are going to miss these people so much. We have already scheduled a time for all of us to get back together next year...we'll see if it happens, but eventually the guys will definitely get together to ski and us ladies plan on going to a beach haha.
All of the guys met in the Junior core and the wives have become friends because of them. Let me tell you, there is never a dull moment when these guys get together.

This is Jared. Jared NEVER eats sugar. He's the healthiest person I have ever met and we forced him to eat a bite of cake tonight.

This is the best day of Jared's life because he ate cake!

We got to come home to this sweet boy...he went poo poo on the potty twice...today and Sunday :o) We are making progress in the potty training dept!

A Great Day!

Today I became a stay at home mom and we found out that our new little baby is a GIRL! We are so so excited about this!

Our ultrasound was awesome! She is actually measuring like 5 days ahead, so we'll have to see what the 20 week US says. It was really just a gender check ultrasound but because my ultrasound guy is amazing he did all sorts of measuring and checked to make sure everything looked normal and even let us count her little tiny fingers! And something way cool, we got to see her eye..it was crazy we could see the little circle within her eye socket! We didn't get a picture of her fingers or a good profile because she was all over the place and because it's just too early for a good profile. We did get to see a little of her profile so that was nice. She is such a mover, she flipped over several times on us. I can feel her a lot more now and it's very frequent, much different than Evan...  The Ultrasound guy (Jay) even said, "She is all over the place!"

Jay called this "the scary Halloween mask picture" I can agree with him haha

Boy or Girl?

We are finding out if baby #2 is a boy or a girl tomorrow! So exciting!

Evan's Pregnancy
-SUPER, unbelievably, ridiculously tired.
-Nauseous until 11 weeks (no vomiting)
-cravings: tootsie pops and soft pretzels
-I gained 9 pounds from 8 weeks to 16 weeks with a total weight gain of 23 pounds
- just a little fun fact- Evan wasn't much of a mover. I found him in the same spot every time with my doppler.

Baby #2
-Not super tired but tired enough that I told Greg 5 days before I found out if I was pregnant that if I wasn't pregnant I needed to get labs done because I was tired all the time
-Nauseous...not quite as bad as Evan's pregnancy, but it still happens when I eat sugar or I don't eat enough (still no vomiting).
-I've gained 5 pounds so far and we are at 16 weeks (hoping I make it to at least 23 pounds).
-Cravings: Fruit and things like fast food but those cravings never get fulfilled because I just can't bring myself to eat fast food (but those double deckers sound delightful)
-This baby moves like crazy! I have the hardest time finding it's little heart beat with the doppler because it never holds still.

They really aren't that different and I just don't know...I have speculations, but I just don't know. With Evan I knew for so long he was boy (probably because of all my dreams...he actually came out looking like he did in my dream)

Anyway...Evan and I made homemade play dough

Evan says, "mash" when he smashes his dough haha
And stickers are a big deal around here...

Evan was playing with the camera and he goes, "say cheese! Look at mommy! Cheese!" haha clearly, we can all see what I say every time I take his picture.

How to keep a toddler busy for hours and a recipe (one you must try)

I got a bowl and some poms from the dollar store (I let him pick between bold poms and pastel, he chose pastel and I liked them the best too) We brought them home and I cut a little hole in the lid and let him go to town by dumping them out and poking them through the hole. He loves it...it's great for sacrament too :)

Activity #2 Buy a $.99 basketball hoop that sticks on windows and doors. The goal was to shoot hoops with him, but apparently taking the suction pieces off, licking them, and sticking them to his belly is way more entertaining.

Activity #3 Water colors. No explanation needed here :o)

ANNNDDD... I made this crock pot recipe and my child ate TWO toddler size bowls of it. That has never ever happened in the history of Evan. You guys, he even ate the shredded chicken. He does NOT eat meat...I just can't get him to, but in this dish the child devoured it. Must try if you have wee ones! He also likes semi spicy food (I know very weird for a 2 year old) but he does and this is a little spicy. We had lots of leftovers too so we ate it for like 3 days and he never got sick of it, which is also extremely rare. Basically, we'll be making this once a week. So here it is..

Cream Cheese Chicken Chili
adapted from Tried and Tasty
(Printable Recipe)

1 can black beans
1 can corn, undrained
1 can Rotel, undrained
1 package ranch dressing mix
1 tsp cumin
1 Tbsp chili powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 8 oz package light cream cheese
2 chicken breasts

Drain and rinse black beans. Place chicken at bottom of pot, then pour out whole can of corn (undrained), rotel, and black beans. Top with seasonings and ranch mix. Stir together. Place cream cheese on top. Cover with lid and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Stir cream cheese into chili. Use 2 forks to shred chicken. Stir together and serve.
